Since I didn't see any other threads and the Admin one on the subject was locked, I'd like to start one on the land protection options.
Personally I like Residence. I'm not on here as much and sort of sporadically so that makes Towny a definite no in my opinion. I hate coming back to see the upkeep drained my money and then lost the land in my absence LOL.
Residence can be as simple or as complicated as you want so I think it's a no-brainer.
